
Hello
My name is Sam Wagner. As a therapist, I place a strong emphasis on building a meaningful therapeutic alliance and serving as an advocate for my clients. People are drawn to my approach because of my empathy, honesty, and willingness to challenge them when it supports their growth. My goal is for every client to feel seen, heard, and affirmed in their humanity.
My Approach to Therapy
I have found that I work especially well with a variety of clients including individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, or substance use challenges. I enjoy working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and concerns, and I value the opportunity to support diverse experiences.
I have experience utilizing DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) modalities, allowing me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. My work includes supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults in individual therapy. I also work with clients across a range of neurodivergent identities, including autism and ADHD.
I view therapy as a collaborative process. I put a strong emphasis on being a teammate for my clients, so they know they don't have to face their challenges alone. By working on these struggles together I believe that we can create more self-compassion, satisfaction, and enjoyment in life despite its many challenges.
